Symphonologie was a multi tiered project, combining artificial intelligence, data visualization and a 52 piece symphony orchestra to deliver an aural and visual interpretation of the business climate in Paris over a 5 year period. Hannah

It begins with Hannah Davis and TransProse. TransProse is a literature to music translation program written by Hannah. It analyzes the emotional arc of novels and outputs melodies based on that arc. But did it have to be novels? Would it work with other forms of writing, specifically articles about business in France? To find out, we gave Hannah a series of articles covering topics from Growth and Profitability, to Artificial Intelligence, to Internet of Things... over 200,000 words in all. And TransProse gave us back... music!

Hannah's TransProse melodies are intriguing, piquing the listener's interest with a thumbnail view of the emotional arc of all those articles. But it takes a master composer to dive deep in and make it all make sense. Enter Mathieu Lamboley. Mathieu is an accomplished composer for film, television and theatre. Who better than this true Parisian artist to transform Hannah's TransProse melodies into a beautiful symphony? No one that we could think of. Not only is Mathieu the composer of Symphonologie, he also is the conductor who led a 52 piece orchestra at the debut performance in the Louvre.

Rare Volume

A beautiful data driven symphony demands an equally beautiful visualization of that data. But who can design such a thing...a living, reactive depiction of data that is at the same time, art? Rare Volume, that's who! Rare Volume is a design and technology studio in NYC, helmed by Robert Hodgin, Jonathan Kim, Andrew Bell, and Allison Keiley. Their specialty is proprietary coding and interactive installations, beautiful and elegant presentations of data of all kinds. The collaborative nature of this project made it a natural challenge for these guys, and they did not disappoint.
